Jordan
Name of campaign: Stop Blaming the Victim
Time period: 1 April – 30 June 2026
Platforms: Facebook
Description: The Stop Blaming the Victim campaign aimed to challenge the culture of victim blaming in Jordan by shifting public discourse away from questioning survivors and towards holding perpetrators accountable. The campaign addressed harmful social norms reinforced through media, family, and community settings that can discourage survivors of gender-based and sexual violence from reporting abuse. It promoted empathy, justice, and survivor-centred responses while encouraging the public to reject victim-blaming attitudes.
Results: The campaign reached approximately 200 people through Facebook and targeted Gen Z survivors and adults aged 25 and above in Jordan. It consisted of a three-day digital awareness campaign using infographics and carousel posts, with the objective of increasing survivor participation and engagement while reducing victim-blaming comments. Qualitatively, the campaign contributed to increased awareness of victim blaming and its harmful effects and encouraged audiences to reconsider attitudes that place responsibility on survivors rather than perpetrators.
